I'm Alexandra Higgins (she/her). I usually go by Alex!
This site was born out of my belief in a decentralized internet and serves as a space for my writing and creative work. Most of work consists of games - usually digital, sometimes not. I started making video games when I was 12 and have been releasing them online for almost as long. Some of my games are collaborative projects, but I usually work solo, making me by extension a designer, writer, programmer, artist, animator, and composer.
I used to showcase games at festivals, events, and conventions from 2017-2021, once solo, but otherwise as part of Underground Arcade Collective which I cofounded with Stephen Thomas in 2017. John D. Moore came along for the ride shortly afterward. We've showcased our work at Artscape, Comic Con for Kids, Cecil Con, Colorspace Lab's First Friday Arcade, and Charm City Meadworks.
Among my games, two have been featured in exhibitions: The Void Hero Blues has been featured as part of Bar SK's Trashgame Exhibition in 2017, and The Morphine Western Revenge was included in the Game[in]g Problems: Drugstore Exhibition in 2024.
My work's also been featured on blogs and review sites: Danger Zone Friends has been featured in Indie Games Plus (most notably) and The Ugly Monster, Bloodjak has been featured in Game Jolt Fireside, and Digital Toilet World was featured in (the legendary) freeindiegam.es.
Danger Zone Friends is also part of indie game anthology zine Indiepocalypse #14, and Jailbird Nocturne is available for purchase as part of the Pizza Pranks Tape Market.
